OakNet was born in the middle of COVID, with the idea that Italian connectivity and cloud could be done better. Six years later we've built the services one by one — fiber, VPS, backup, storage, domains — and we still talk to customers on the phone.

The beginning

OakNet was born at the peak of lockdown. Two people, one room, the idea that Italian cloud could be done better.

FiberCop Partner

Agreement signed with FiberCop: we bring optical fiber across Italy, wherever there's coverage.

Business Fiber

We start delivering symmetric FTTH and FTTO to businesses. Guaranteed bandwidth, real SLAs, one number to call if the line goes down.

S3 Backup

We open the S3-compatible object storage service. Managed 3-2-1, immutable by default.

QNAP Storage

We launch the storage line with preconfigured QNAP NAS, monitored 24/7.

QNAP Bronze Partner

We obtain the official QNAP Bronze Partner certification.

OakNet Hub

We'll launch the Customer Hub and start restoring the datacenter under the Parco del Ticino.

A datacenter
hidden among the trees.

We're restoring an old building inside the Parco del Ticino, integrating the datacenter into the existing structure and the surrounding greenery. The server room lives underground; above ground, the building stays as it is.

Instead of putting up a new warehouse, we chose to adapt the datacenter to the building, not the other way around. Rooftop solar panels and electrical supply certified 100% renewable.
